Cait O’Mara (b. 2002, Oregon) is a hand-weaver, dyer, and sculptor working with wool and plant fibers combined with industrial materials to work through ideas of fragility, construction, labor, ritual, and repetition. Using the loom as a tool of rhythm and organization, O’Mara attempts to recollect ancient technologies and contemporary complexities through woven cloth combined with found and cast objects. They are guided by walks along rivers, spending time with birds, observing construction sites over long periods of time, and deep time.
They received their BFA in Fibers with a secondary concentration in Sculpture (2025) from the University of Oregon College of Design.
They currently live and work in Portland, OR as a Studio Assistant at WildCraft Studio School.
